In Mills’ second collaboration with Deaf dancer Lark Detweiler, this time for Detweiler’s solo music project, the two play in pure gothic delight in this music video for spiralteeth’s first single “Ladyofthelake.”
Alice Teeple of Post-punk.com writes, “Ladyofthelake plays like a fever dream in three acts: reflection, confrontation, and collapse… It’s equal parts Gothic horror and whispered love letter, a track that dances as much as it threatens… [The video is] a blue-hued intense dance performance by Detwiler filmed in a claustrophobic space and intermittently emerging from a body of water. It feels nightmarish, combative, primal.”
Mills also served as this projects colorist.
