An audiovisual collaboration between Sydney Mills & Justin McGrath
In defective _________ product, Mills and McGrath weave together a string of visuals in an interplay of the synthetic and the human form. A nightmarish deluge of sound, color and textures, defective _________ product seeks to shatter the boundaries of the human corporeal condition and bodily finitude. Organic becomes synthetic and synthetic turns organic as the artists speculate a future for the human body in which it must become more mechanized and modular or risk total obsolescence.
For this project, Mills also served as cinematographer, colorist, art director, prop maker and special effects.
