CONSUMED (2017-2018)
CONSUMED centers on a fictional product called The Consumed Body Purification System. The product is a kitchen countertop appliance that brews a meal-replacement drink of its owners’ cloned and liquefied biomass, speculating a future where auto-cannibalism is the diet of choice for the health-conscious consumer. Satirizing recent trends in wellness, CONSUMED ruminates on the use manipulative advertising tactics fueled by fugitive neoliberal barbarism, which has repositioned human bodily wellness as a commodity as opposed to a human right.
